ta-da!! we're done! and we are so excited to have a "new" house. well, it feels new anyway. dillon took a week off work and my parents took the boys and we slaved away with the help of geraldine (dillon's mom) and shalese (dillon's sister, who is the best ceiling painter in the world, might i add!) and kathleen and richard (dillon's aunt and uncle). we love our family! we never could have finished it in time without the help from our family!! thanks everybody!
so here's the run-down of what we did. we painted all the walls and trim except for the bedrooms (which we plan to do later). we pulled up the carpet in the hallway, kitchen, dining room, and foyer. dillon installed hardwood floor that we bought for a song in the hallway, kitchen and dining room. (honestly, i've never seen a better looking floor in my life. it's beautiful! and even better - it was a great deal!) then he laid tile in the foyer. then he trimmed out all the bathroom beadboard. and i think that's it. oh, and we took most everything, including our aethestically pleasing, but not heat-producing fireplace to the dump. and wah-lah...here you have it...
thanks again to everyone who helped and cheered us on. "we get by with a little help from our friends"...and family!
ok, so here's the oh so ugly BEFORE pictures...i never realized how cluttered our house was until i looked at these pictures. we have NOW adopted the idea that "less is more" and we love it. live a simple life.
here's the DURING pictures....
lovely green flooring...let me guess, the 70s?
ew, even better...
shalese, the gansta painta
and the AFTER pictures...
table look familiar jenner? we still love it, thanks!
and we ARE replacing the lovely blue carpet sometime in july. yea!
and here he is, the husband of the universe, reading his scriptures and fallin asleep. "thank you Lord, how can I ask for more?"
