for presiden'ts day, (at least i think that's what the holiday was?) dillon's parents took us (and the boys) cross-country skiing. we loved it. we've both been before, but this time was like magic for me. it was so fun! dillon's mom borrowed a sled for the boys to ride in. they sat side by side in this little enclosed sled-thing that dillon strapped onto his waist and away we went. if it wasn't for the first little tip-over that they experienced at the very beginning, i think they would have enjoyed it a little better. they cried about 80% of the time. but we had a very fun time, regardless. when we got back to the van, parker said to grandma hansen "we had a fun day, didn't we grandma?" she asked him if he wanted to go skiing again and he said "no thanks!"
despite our sons distaste for the sport, and knowing they will come to love it, dillon and i decided we needed to invest in some cross-country skis. we loved it. it's so smooth and quiet. need i mention the benefits of exercise added from this wonderful little jaunt in the woods? AND no wad of money has to be handed over for a lift ticket! it's great. enjoy the great outdoors...and you will be paid back double your money in smiles.

yeah for cross country skiing! that reminds me of our bike trailers trips with our kids. crying from zac about 80% of the time. good job dillon on pulling the boys!
Fun blog Annie! Your boys are so cute!-they have good genes. My M-in law loves to CC ski too. I'm glad you are making the most of your long Idaho winter!
That looks like you guys had such a fun time. Hopefully the boys will like it more as they get older :) What a fun sled for the boys to be in so they stay a bit warmer.
Okay you guys look like you are having doing so much fun stuff!! I am a little jealous of the beautiful snow too- here in Arizona, Logan has yet to ever play in a drop of snow in his life!! Well just in case you didn't get it our blog is thealders.blogspot.com.

Annie, WOW!! That's a dream for me. A friend told me she would go cross country skiing with her kids. She'd put her kids in on a sled and tie it around her waste and go. Amazing. i really want to do it, but I always get a little nervous being by myself. you never know whose out there. I need you to move close so we can go together. I hope you get to go often, cross country skiing is one of my FAV. Snow shoeing is fun also.
